Today SkitLite can announce that ex-SkitLite veteran Viktor 'VirreX' Jakobsen will be returning to play under the SkitLite.SWE name for the EEE event in Stockholm this weekend! The change has come after problems within the team and VeloX being removed, just days before the event!
After the unfortunate breaking up of our former MW3 360 squad due to unforeseen circumstances, we at Skitlite were keen to acquire a new squad. Due to the growth of MW3 scene with this years calendar filling up with LAN events such as ACL, Insomnia 45 and other events it would be silly not to venture into the new found territory. The new squad has just as much potential if not more than the previous line up and we are expecting good things from them as they look to prove their dominance in the EU community.
Today we would like to welcome a very respected, well known Call of Duty 4 team. The team who have formerly played for the organisation KnightS* for 8 months have decided that they were not providing sufficient support.
Having recently won the recent EGL4 event on PS3 the SkitLite.PS3 team have decided it is time for a step up and a change. Now that they have switched to Xbox to persue their gaming careers further the team have also decided that in order to keep the standard up they are making a team change.
After the emergence of possible the biggest eSports title on PC it seemed appropriate to find a manager who had experienced the game at the highest level. The addition of MLG picking up the game on the circuit competitive Starcraft is like any other sport. The players are worshipped and followed by thousands of screaming fans and we are excited to announce the acquisition of a manager and team who can take Skitlite to new heights in this department.
Finally the time has come that we can finally announce our 2012 LAN jersey design which will be produced by Akuma Sports (Special thanks to them as they have been great!). The shirts will be available to sell to all you gamers in the near future, we will release a price for the jersey soon!
The Internet Blacklist bills, “Stop Online Piracy Act” (SOPA) and the “PROTECT IP Act” (PIPA) are severe bills which will negatively impact everyone in the online community. So in the spirit of raising awareness I'll explain what SOPA and PIPA are and why we as gamers should care.
After extensive talks with manager Matt, our newest addition to the Academy division can finally be announced after the roster was finalised today. This new squad is from the United Kingdom and will represent SkitLite on Modern Warfare 3 for Xbox 360. Like our Swedish academy team, they will be looking to attend the European eSports Event in Stockholm next month and hope to surprise a few people considering the potential they have.
After a lot of thought of discussion SkitLite Gaming have decided to now open an academy division, rather than just supporting the professionally ranked teams. Academy teams aren't quite community teams in as such they have to have proven themselves slightly and shown a bit more potential for success where as community teams are more for lower skilled gamers getting the experience of playing for an organisation.
Today as it comes, SkitLite Gaming are pleased to announce the addition of yet another console team. The team consisting of a French & Belgian roster will be taking the SkitLite name to events across France, England, Holland and Belgium. Having not had the best luck on the Xbox LAN scene we hope to change this by taking another route than a UK team to help us achieve more outside of the UK.
